Our story

Al-Qabas Economical Group was founded in Baghdad in 1961 by the late Ali Saleh Al-Qaisi. What began as a single contracting company has grown, over more than six decades, into a group of twelve specialised companies.

Today the group works across water and wastewater, oil & gas, construction and infrastructure, engineering, trading, industry, healthcare and technology. Because these capabilities sit under one group, we can take complex projects from design and procurement through to construction, commissioning and handover.

Our approach is straightforward: do the technical work well, deliver on the ground, and stand behind what we build — to ISO-certified standards of quality, safety and environmental care.

The late Ali Saleh Al-Qaisi founded Al-Qabas as a contracting and construction company in 1961. From the earliest days he committed the company to high quality, sound engineering and modern technology across industry, agriculture, oil & gas, transport and trade — the foundation on which his family and board have built the group of today.
